Happy New Year!
I'm hoping for a happy and healthy 2024 for us all.
This cartoon is semi autobiographical although Covid and the pandemic restrictions pretty much cured me of FOMO. I'm now far happier to stay home and enjoy the little things.
But I would like to write a bestseller!
A Basque Diary: A New Edition of My Book About Living in Spain
I'm happy to announce the new edition of my book, “A Basque Diary”, about our two years of living in Hondarribia in Spain. This book is a personal and cultural exploration of the Basque Country, its history, language, cuisine, and people. It is also a travel guide with tips and recommendations for anyone who wants to visit this beautiful region.
The new edition has been updated with new information on bars, restaurants, and other places of interest that we visited last summer. This is the second edition of the book, which was first published in 2017 and was well received by locals and visitors alike.
If you are interested in learning more about the Basque Country, or if you are planning to travel there, this book is for you. You can ask for it in bookshops, or find it online here.
Arctic Circle Cartoon - For the Birds
Blackbird radio is on full blast here in New Zealand’s spring
I’ve seen a lot of plastic in nests around where I live. Plus fibre stolen from my hanging baskets.
My first editor, Brendan Burford, is a bird watcher. I’m more of a bird listener, though I like it when they hang around the studio. Not so much when they are in the garden, uprooting young seedlings in the search of worms.
Arctic Circle Cartoon - Unforseen Consequences of Electrification of Transport
Hopefully we’ll figure this one out, just as grid capacity is being planned for, battery production and recycling is improving and the price of electric vehicles is coming down.
